Recently Burberry announced that the brand were to be launching a line of make-up, made up of 96 products. The line launched at Harrods on the 12th of July, and is now available to buy in-store and On-line at http://www.harrods.com/harrodsstore/find/b/burberry
When speaking about Burberry's past catwalk shows, their chief creative officer Christopher Bailey revealed 'It felt like we weren’t able to get the right attitude. It was either caked-on make-up or then just the wrong colours, the wrong tones, the wrong spirit for make-up. I wanted it to be this kind of effortless elegance”
The line includes sheer foundation, pressed powder liquid foundation, blush, bronzer, eye shadow, eyeliner, mascara, lip gloss and lipstick. Burberry's inspiration for the collection was their classic trench coat. The trench coat is a highly recognised garment from the brand, and is known for it's earthy classic tones, these colours are now represented through the make-up line. The brand are hoping the collection gets the same high status recognition as their recent collections, which are now known for being classic and wearable. Christopher Bailey stated “Like the trench coat, it can be worn anywhere and at any time.” The tones of the powder, blush and bronzer are very earthy, and lips are neutral or statement red. A lot of the Eye shadows are deep blues, and dark grey, however not everything is toned down, the powders and foundation still have a light glow which shows in natural light. The collections packaging is silver, and both the packaging and product are designed with the brands iconic check trademark. One of the thing's I like the most about high end designer brands are their packaging. I think Burberry's packaging is just as stylish as most other high end brands, and definitely reflects their classic image. Burberry has chosen Transformers star Rosie Huntington Whiteley to be the face of the beauty cosmetics range, as well as the usual Burberry girls Lilly Donaldson and Emma Porter, as the brand wanted to show the collection can work on any skin tone, even though I'm pretty sure any cosmetics would look amazing on those faces!

Will you be rushing out to get your hands on the Burberry beauty line?
